Ryan Schmidt sings
A Powerful New Sound Someone You Should Know
You are about to be listening to one of the more talented 22 year old solo performers we’ve come across. Cambridge, MA’s Ryan Schmidt is a performer on the rise in the Boston music scene and I suspect that you may well be hearing a whole lot of this driven artist music outside the region as well. Having recorded with the highly regarded Ed Valauskas of Q-Division (look it up kids), Schmidt has some pretty great material under his belt at this early stage. His debut; Black Sheep, Run follows. Schmidt shows an emotional intelligence and a matured sensibility that underscores the effort. The potential for a glorious ending is far from secured, but Schmidt’s focus on his art and his exceptional vocalizations make me think he could soon to prove to be Boston’s finest export. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Ryan Schmidt.
